DESCRIPTION

The Army Air Force (AAF) was an organization founded during WWII. In 1947 the US Air Force (USAF) split into its own organization.

This is a set of 1946 US Air Force transitional Ike jacket and wool shirt. Belonging to the same person. The Ike jacket is in very good condition. With a rank of Airman First Class. Air Material Command patch. Dated 1946. Size 34 S. Manufactured by the Cohen-Fein company. "US" and "Air Force" gold colored collar discs. Button-up front. Minor mothing to the right arm and front.

The wool shirt is in fair condition. A tear is found in the elbow area of one arm. Additional tears to the upper section of the left arm. Size 14 1/2 x 31. Named and has a number stamped in the inner collar. The Air Material Command patch is sewn to one arm.

Interesting to notice that the stitching for all patches is the same.

The hat is not included.
