This is a German cavalry sword. Dating back to the late 1800's. Complete with the scabbard and knot.

The handle is of dove head style. Wooden base with shark skin cover. Nine strands of wire wrap around it. The bottom section is missing the cover and shows a crack on both sides (one larger than the other). A "D" cross cuard is in place. A rectangular opening on the end of the guard allows the knot cord to pass through.

The blade is nice and straight. Manufactured by the Weyersberg $ Stamm company of Solingen. Company logo is stamped on one side of the base. It has not been sharpened and retains most of the chroming.

The scabbard is made of steel. It has a suspension ring on the edge and a cross support on the side. The ring is set on a fixed position. It does not move. The two parts were used to attach the sword hanger. No major dents.
