PHOTOGRAPHER
==============

This photograph was taken by Lieutenant Irving W. Brayer. He was the official photographer of the 56th Fighter Group from February 18th 1944 through June 15th 1944. This period included the D-Day invasion. During this time Mr. Brayer had unprecedented access to all the pilots, Aces, Officers and locations of the 56th Fighter Group. He went on missions with the bombers that were escorted by the group. He was able to record the daily activities of the pilots. Since he was instrumental in the development of the gun camera and other photography technology he was able to capture and analyze intelligence information.
